Candidates Update Sitting Councillors

Hempstead and Wigmore Council Candidates Jim Gilbourne and Andrew Lawrence met with Cllr Diane Chambers and Cllr Rodney Chambers on Thursday 16th March to discuss with them campaigning to date and receive an update on matters that Diane and Rodney were dealing with.

Andrew and Jim had come across a number of issues that Diane and Rodney would take up and deal with: -

  • The trees in Sharsted Way close to the junction with Hoath Way need maintenance as they are over hanging the road and causing an obstruction to high-sided vehicles. A number of the trees were laying at a precarious angle close to the road.
  • Work is needed to a number of the road surfaces across the Ward - Hempstead Road is in particularly poor condition between Chapel Lane and roundabout on Pear Tree Lane

Diane and Rodney briefed Jim and Andrew on planned works in Kings Frith to the play equipment and importantly how such projects go from an idea to reality

There was a discussion on planning procedures and current status of the Lidsing development. Andrew and Jim provided an update on the housebuilding survey that is running until the 31st March 2023.

At the end of the meeting Jim commented "Diane and Rodney local knowledge is second to none as well as their experience in getting things done in the Ward. We will continue to call on Diane and Rodney should we be elected after the 4th May."

Andrew added "It is essential to understand the processes in the Council, Diane and Rodney have been doing this for years we are very lucky to have their continued support."
